Why should I book Between The Loops?
With 12 years of playing experience as a duo we have performed across the UK and Europe in all types of venues and to a variety of audiences. We understand what it takes to make every type of event a success and we always work closely with a client to achieve this.
What type of events will you perform at?
We have performed at weddings, birthday parties, fundraisers, award ceremonies, Christmas parties, charity events, civil partnerships and house parties and are happy to play at any special or unusual event so please do not hesitate to contact us.
What venues are you able to play at?
We can perform at any type and size of venue you require, whether this is a hotel, Manor House, bar or at a private residence.
What types of music can you perform?
We perform music from all decades (50s – 00s) and across all genres. Our repertoire has in excess of 60 songs and growing and we are constantly updating this with new material.
Where and how far will you travel to?
Whether it’s in the UK, Europe or International will be happy to perform at your event.
What time will you start and finish?
Our start and finish times are flexible as they depend on the client’s itinerary for the afternoon / evening. If you require an earlier start / later finish time than the contractual timings this is not a problem but an additional fee may be charged.
How long and how many sets do you do?
There are a number of options when booking Between The Loops, 2 x 60 minute sets, 2 x 45 minute sets, 2 x 30 min sets or 1 x 60 min sets. If you have other timings in mind please discuss this at the time of your enquiry.
How long will you require to set up?
Our ideal set up time is 60 mins but we can set up quicker as long as we have easy access to the venue (i.e. ground floor room and vehicle access close to performance area at the venue). On average we would require a minimum of 45 mins to complete a set up and sound check.
How much space will you require?
As standard we require a performance area of 2x4 metres but we are accustomed to playing a variety of different venues with varying performance spaces.
How much power will you require?
As we have invested in the latest sound and lighting systems our power consumption is low but we prefer to run both systems from different power sources to reduce the risk of noise interference. We ideally require 2 double 13 amp sockets, one either side of the performance area as we draw approximately 16 amps during a performance. Please note events held in marquees with power supplied by a generator can effect sound and light systems if the power output is inadequate.
Can you provide background music?
As standard we carry an iPad with in excess of over 5000 songs to all our performances that we use specifically for this. We have a number of playlists with music ranging from the 50s to 00s making sure we can cater for guests of all ages.
What timings are best on the day?
Our performance times are important in making your event flow properly. We are flexible and happy to discuss this in detail.
How will you dress for my event?
For most events we will dress in our smart casual attire (as per our promotion material) unless otherwise stated by the client.
Can you perform our special song?
We are happy to learn a special song but this does depend on whether it will suit an acoustic format, our playing style and the male vocal. Certain genres of music do not lend themselves to the acoustic format and can make it hard for us to do a song justice. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
Will your performance be too loud?
As we are an acoustic duo we can play at very low volume to provide background music which blends seamlessly into any environment and event. We always insure that our volume levels are such that people at an event can still converse easily.
Do you have previous client reviews?
We have many reviews from our previous clients and these can be found on this website on the reviews page.
Do you have any specific requirements?
We will require a room to change in, preferably lockable so we can store our clothes / valuables safely. We also ask that food and light refreshments are provided at any event. Please note this is standard for all professional working bands.
Can you provide PAT and PLI certificates?
We have up to date PAT certification and Public Liability Insurance cover up to £10M which comes as standard for all events.
Can I use your PA system for speeches?
You are welcome to use our sound system but please be aware of the following points:
We do not use radio mic’s so the speech would need to be near where we have set up. The PA is not mobile so once it is set up this cannot be moved to another location. Think about timings as it will add additional costs to our fee if we arrive early. If you do use our equipment please note you will not be covered on our Public Liability insurance.
Can one of our guests perform with you?
Having a guest join us for our performance can be a real high point of the evening ....... or a low point. To avoid this we would like to discuss this prior to your event with yourself and the person you have in mind. As we have so much expensive equipment on and around the stage area an impromptu guest jumping up to join us can result in disaster and cost to them/you. Also, please note they would not be covered by our Public Liability Insurance.
Can I pick your set list for my event?
You can pick up to 15 songs and we will build a set around the majority of your selection. It also helps to inform us of any songs you do not wish to be played. Please note we cannot guarantee to play all of your choices as we DJ the set according to age group and crowd reaction.
What if you have to cancel the booking?
We have never cancelled an event but it in the unlikely circumstance that this did happen we would make every effort to find a suitable replacement act. As our work is our livelihood we take our commitments seriously and we also understand how much events mean to each individual client.
Where can I come and see you perform?
As the majority of our work is for private clients for weddings, corporate or function events we try and keep our marketing i.e. recordings and videos as up to date as possible. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page as we do occasionally play public venues in our local area: www.facebook.com/betweentheloops
How much does it cost to book you?
This can depend on a number of factors such as the time of year, which day of the week, location of your event and timings on the day. Our standard price starts at £500.
How can I make a provisional booking?
Unfortunately we do not take provisional bookings due the fact that we are dealing with so many enquiries on a weekly basis, this would mean turning clients away on peak dates. If you do make an enquiry with us it will be logged on our calendar and you will be given first refusal on your date.
